A gentle, compassionate space to better understand trauma, chronic stress, the nervous system, and the connection between emotional overwhelm and physical symptoms — through both science and embodied experience.
This 3-hour workshop is designed as a resourcing, educational and experiential space for those wanting to understand themselves more deeply, without pressure to share personal experiences or revisit traumatic memories.
Together, we will explore how trauma and chronic stress impact the nervous system, body, emotions, beliefs, behaviours, and long-term health — while offering practical, trauma-informed tools to support regulation, safety, self-compassion and reconnection.
This is not a trauma-processing group.
There will be no trauma disclosure, memory processing or EMDR practice within the session.
Instead, this workshop offers a safe and paced introduction to understanding trauma through the lenses of nervous system regulation, biology, compassion-focused approaches, and somatic awareness.
OUR INTENTION
This workshop is rooted in the understanding that many symptoms, behaviours and coping patterns are adaptive responses — not personal failures.
Our intention is to:
- Increase understanding and reduce shame
- Help participants make sense of their experiences
- Support nervous system safety and capacity
- Offer practical and compassionate tools
- Create a bridge toward deeper healing work, if and when appropriate
We will explore:
Throughout the session, we’ll gently explore:
- Understanding trauma and the nervous system through a compassionate, science-informed lens
- Fight, flight, freeze and shutdown survival responses
- How chronic stress and trauma can impact the body, health and mind-body symptoms
- The connection between trauma, core beliefs, perfectionism and protective coping patterns
- Why many people become stuck in survival, over-functioning or shutdown
- How compassion, safety and nervous system regulation support healing
We’ll also introduce different trauma-informed approaches, including:
- Somatic and embodiment practices
- Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT)
- EMDR and trauma-informed therapy
- Nervous system regulation approaches
The session will include gentle experiential practices designed to support grounding, awareness and compassionate reconnection with the body.
The practices
The workshop will also include gentle, optional experiential practices designed to support regulation and reconnection in a safe and contained way.
These may include:
- Orienting and grounding practices
- Nervous system regulation tools
- Gentle somatic awareness and movement
- Compassion-based resourcing exercises
- Guided reflection and integration
All practices are optional, paced and adaptable.
You are always encouraged to listen to your body, rest when needed, and participate at your own pace.
This workshop might support if you:
- Feel stuck in chronic stress, overwhelm, anxiety, fatigue or burnout
- Experience persistent mind-body symptoms, chronic pain or exhaustion
- Tend to live in hypervigilance, shutdown, overthinking or emotional overwhelm

No previous experience with somatic work, therapy or nervous system practices is needed.
Facilitators
Sara is an Integrative Mind-Body & Somatic Nervous System Coach, Yoga Teacher and Mindfulness Practitioner with a background in Biomedical Sciences and over 12 years within the NHS. Her work focuses on the connection between trauma, chronic stress, nervous system dysregulation and mind-body symptoms, blending neuroscience, somatic healing and compassionate nervous system regulation approaches.
Misha is the founder of Mynded and a trauma therapist specialising in EMDR, CBT and IPT for women healing from childhood and sexual trauma. She helps women move from guilt and shame to genuine self-compassion and authentic living. Her work is grounded in connection, nervous system awareness, depathologising trauma and the belief that women heal stronger together. Misha has over 11 years experience in the NHS and private practice.
Somatic embodiment
ONLINE CLASS
A gentle, trauma-informed movement space for nervous system regulation.
This online somatic embodiment class is a slow, trauma-informed movement practice designed to support nervous system regulation, safety, and embodied presence — especially for those living with chronic pain, chronic illness, fatigue, anxiety or ongoing stress.
The class offers a spacious, non-demanding environment where you are invited to listen to your body and move (or rest) in ways that feel supportive for you. There is no requirement to push, perform, or “do it right.”
Each session may include gentle somatic practices, intuitive movement, breath awareness, rest, and guided presence. All practices are optional and adaptable.
This class is intentionally designed to require minimal energy and to support overloaded or sensitive nervous systems.
